December 2023

Message from the Mayor

Blink and you’ll miss 2023, December is here already! It’s a good time to reflect on what we have achieved across the region, both as a Council and as a community. It never ceases to amaze me the great work that gets put in by volunteers and community organisations to make our region the thriving centre it is, and I thank everyone who plays their part in making us a thriving community.

Watching wildlife

Live on the land in our region? We have been working with individual land owners for a biodiversity baseline study to capture a snapshot of habitats which may include a range of plants and animals.

Prioritising Youth

The Draft Tamworth Regional Youth Strategy is currently on public exhibition. It will help guide how we as Council and other stakeholders can support young people.

MyTRC Water Portal is now LIVE

MyTRC Water Portal is now LIVE

Avoid bill shock for your water usage by signing up for the new MyTRC Water Portal. Throughout 2023 more than 21,000 smart water meters have been installed across the region. The smart water meters provide real time data to help detect leaks, improve billing accuracy and allow residents to monitor their own water usage.

Barry Road works begin

Barry Road users in Hanging Rock will have noticed machinery in action as works commence to remediate the damaged road. The road suffered a major road failure caused by a land slip during the heavy rains that soaked the region in late 2021.
