Our Culture and Strategy

Where were headed

Where we're headed:

Council is committed to serving the community with integrity, efficiency, fairness and impartiality, encouraging a climate of respect for all. We are guided by our overarching strategic plan, ‘Blueprint 100’.  Blueprint is a plan to guide future use of land within the Region towards a population of 100,000 people and will ensure that there is sufficient infrastructure and opportunities for jobs growth and great places for people to live.

Our values

Our Values:

Everything Council does is underpinned by our core values (TEACH) which guide our actions and decisions. These values define the culture of our organisation and the behaviours that shape our interaction with the community and each other.

  • Teamwork requires individuals to cooperate, respect and help each other to meet team and organisation objectives.
  • Equity ensures our decisions and actions are fair and consistent
  • Accountability is accepting responsibility for our work and decisions
  • Customer Focus relates to focusing on and servicing our customers in a positive, responsive way.
  • Health & Safety relates to accepting responsibility for the health and safety of ourselves and our co-workers
Diversity and inclusion

Diversity and Inclusion:

Council is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every individual is valued and respected. We believe that a wide range of perspectives and experiences enhances our ability to serve the community effectively. We actively promote equality as one of our core values and ensure that our policies and practices support an environment where all employees can thrive, regardless of their background, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation. Through continuous training, open dialogue, and supportive networks, we strive to create a culture of inclusion that reflects the rich diversity of the communities we serve.

Employee Wellbeing

Our Employee Wellbeing:

At TRC we place a high priority on the health and wellbeing of our employees, understanding that a supportive work environment is crucial for both personal and professional success. We offer a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes both face to face and mental health support. We also participate in a range of health and wellbeing initiatives including the annual flu clinic, R U Ok Day and promoting the (Lifeblood) Councils annual blood donation challenge.

Our Flexible Work Arrangement Policy has been designed to help employees balance their work and personal lives through rostered days off, condensed work weeks and other flexible arrangements based on operational requirements, which can reduce stress and promotes a healthy work-life balance.
By fostering a culture that prioritises health and wellbeing, we ensure our employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to perform at their best.
