Blink and you’ll miss 2023, December is here already!
It’s a good time to reflect on what we have achieved across the region, both as a Council and as a community. It never ceases to amaze me the great work that gets put in by volunteers and community organisations to make our region the thriving centre it is, and I thank everyone who plays their part in making us a thriving community.
In 2023 Council has rolled out smart water meters, welcomed the first trains to the new intermodal facility at Tamworth Global Gateway Park, and opened Paws for Life animal shelter.
Fiesta La Peel celebrated 10 years, while the Toyota Country Music Festival won gold at the NSW Tourism Awards in the major festivals and events category.
We have also completed a number of major infrastructure projects, and continue to plan for the growth of our region.
On behalf of my fellow Councillors and myself, I’d like to wish everyone in our community a merry and safe Christmas, and I look forward to seeing you all out and about in 2024.
