Fee Waivers and subsidies
In some instances, Council can waive venue hire and related charges for non-profit local community organisations.
There are several options available to those in pursuit of subsidisation or waiver of fees associated with Council venue hire:
Option 1 - Waiving of Fees
The Request for Donation by Waiving of Fees Policy allows Council to waive up to 50% of the venue hire and related charges for non-profit local community organisations, to a maximum of $500 per year.
All applicants should ensure that their group or organisation meet the Waiving of Fees criteria as outlined on page 30 of General Policy Register (PDF 6.6MB) before submitting their application to Council.

Option 2 - Sport Event Subsidisation
The Sport Event Subsidisation Policy provides sports user groups with the opportunity to apply for a subsidisation to the fees associated with their event.
The policy is listed in the General Policy Register (PDF 6.6MB), user groups should view the policy and ensure that they are eligible, before submitting an application.

Option 3 - Complete fee waiver
Sports user groups can request to have all Council fees associated with their event waived.
These requests are assessed by Councillors at a general Council Meeting, and must be done so prior to the respective event date/s.
To request a complete fee waiver, the user group responsible for the event (i.e. applying for venue hire and would otherwise be financial responsible for associated fees) is to submit a written request for fee waiver to trc@tamworth.nsw.gov.au.
The request should clearly outline what Council is being asked to consider, and include details about the event, including but not limited to:
- Event Name
- Event Location
- Event Date/s
- Level of Event (Regional / State / National)
- No. of participants, spectators and bed nights
