Local adults are invited to participate in a number of events that are being held in each of the libraries in the region as part of Adult Learners Week from Sunday 1 September, 2024.The nation-wide celebration of learning is held in the first week of September each year and is an important reminder that anyone can take the journey through adult learning, regardless of your age or stage in life.

Aquatics funding plan adds up
A strategy which sets out how Council will be able to fund an aquatic, sport and health centre was unanimously supported by Councillors at the August 13 Ordinary Meeting. The decision drew applause and cheers from the overflowing gallery of residents and sports group members who want to use the facility.

Turning old linens into new beginnings
Do you have unwanted household linen you want to dispose of without them going to landfill? We have an answer! Council has partnered with Give a Sheet® for the Planet to host a community event aimed at recycling unwanted household linens. The collected items will then be sent to a state-of-the-art textile recovery facility in Australia, where they will be transformed into new recycled materials for use by Australian manufacturers.

Parking zones in focus
Drivers in Tamworth will notice some changes to the way we monitor restricted parking zones from next month. After a successful trial period earlier in the year we are replacing the manual tyre chalking system with a Licence Plate Recognition Camera.
