Tamworth Sewage Treatment System EPL1600
The full license for the Tamworth Sewage Treatment System (EPL # 1600) is available from the EPA website.
The objectives of this licence are to:
a) prevent as far as practicable sewage overflows and sewage treatment plant bypasses;
b) require proper and efficient management of the system to minimise harm to the environment and public health; and
c) require practical measures to be taken to protect the environment and public health from sewage overflows and sewage treatment plant effluent.
Tamworth Wastewater Treatment System (WWTS) Pollution Incident Response Plan (PIRMP) (PDF 7.2MB) has been prepared to comply with legislative requirements and contains details of site-specific actions that will improve the way pollution incidents are reported, managed and communicated to the general community.
These actions meet the environmental requirements introduced by the Protection of the Environment Legislation Amendment Act 2011 and the Protection of the Environment Operations (General) Amendment (Pollution Incident Response Management Plan) Regulation, 2012.
Data required under the licence are published in PDF format, and include licence details, monitoring points, pollutants and units of measure, monitoring frequency, limits imposed by the licence, any other relevant conditions imposed by the licence, and dates of sampling, data acquisition and publication.
