Expression of Interest - Tamworth Region Community Advisory Committees and Working Groups
Tamworth Regional Council has opportunities for interested locals to give their time and have their voices heard as part of our community committees.
These groups provide strategic advice and support to Council across a wide variety of specialty areas which help shape our community plans.
The groups seeking new community members include:
- Disability Access Working Group - with a purpose to guide, monitor and evaluate the development and implementation of the Disability Inclusion Plan, and provide strategic advice to Council on access issues.
- Tamworth Regional Council Heritage Working Group – provides support, advice and direction to Council on key heritage conservation issues and programs.
- Tamworth Region Arts Advisory Committee – has a purpose to provide strategic advice around “Arts” matters in the region and make recommendations for priority areas for development and support.
- Tamworth Region Inclusive Culture Advisory Committee - provides strategic advice to the Council in relation to diversity and other specific cultural matters.
- Tamworth City Centre Working Group – which has an aim to initiate, evaluate, and advise Council on plans and projects affecting the Tamworth CBD, taking into account the vision for the CBD outlined in Blueprint 100.
- Tamworth Regional Community Safety Working Group – provide advice and share information that increases understanding of issues around community safety, including crime, vandalism, and anti-social behaviour. The group also assists in the development, assessment, and community engagement of community safety plans.
- Urban Street Tree Management Group – provides technical expertise and comment in relation to the development of the different documents of the Urban Street Tree Management Plan.
