I’m sure you know there will be an inquiry into community safety and crime in regional NSW looking at the drivers of youth crime across regional and rural NSW. The Legislative Assembly Committee on Law and Safety will report on how a whole of government approach may be able to reduce those factors which lead to youth crime in regional and rural NSW. Critically we must have our voice heard.
I feel the outcome of any inquiry can only be as effective as the information it is given, and that’s why I'm calling on members of our community to make a written submission. If we do not use our voice, this inquiry will be a wasted opportunity.
Whether you are a victim of crime or you have a loved one who needs help to stay on the right side of the law, all information is important. Please write a submission and lodge it online at trcnews.au/crime. Submissions are open until 31 May, 2024.
Your submission will help the inquiry committee know about our lived experience.
