It's that time of year again when our community comes together to make a real difference to their local environment. Clean Up Australia Day is just around the corner, and we are encouraging all residents to roll up their sleeves and get involved! There are a number of ways you can participate - something to suit everyone including businesses, schools or any member of the community.
First up, rally your work mates and get involved in the Business Clean Up Day on Tuesday 27 February. It's a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to step out of the office and into the great outdoors, demonstrating their commitment to environmental responsibility.
Another way to get involved is the School Clean Up Day on Friday 1 March. What better way to instil environmental values in our youth than by participating in Clean Up Australia Day? Students can take the lead in caring for their school grounds and surrounding areas, learning valuable lessons along the way.
Finally, don't miss the Community Clean Up Day on Sunday 3 March, where residents from all walks of life will come together to make a tangible difference in our region. Whether you're passionate about preserving our parks, cleaning up our waterways, or simply keeping our streets clean, there's something for everyone to contribute to.
Last year, community groups in the Tamworth region collected a huge 340kg of litter on Clean Up Australia Day! For more information and to register visit register.cleanup.org.au.
