We’ve recently announced three “Community Meet and Greet” events for 2024. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been living here for two months or two years, we're committed to helping new residents feel at home and find their crew by bringing local organisations, sporting groups, volunteers and community members together.
If you're new to the Tamworth region or just starting to settle in, you'll know it can sometimes be hard to know where to go or who to speak to about feeling like a local. Our new resident gatherings aim to help you join a few more dots and connect with confidence with your new community.
We're looking forward to meeting you - perhaps for the first time - in May, August or October with a group of friendly locals ready to welcome you and your family to the region!
The networking-style events are designed to make it easier for newcomers to meet fellow residents who may also be feeling a little shy or uncertain, inviting you to explore the Tamworth community as a place to live, work and invest.
Each event is themed and aims to meet your interests and needs as a new comer.
On Monday May 20, you're invited to join us at the Tamworth Community Centre in Darling Street to chat about our community and how we can help you feel more connected.
You can bring your children and join us from 3 - 7pm for a family-friendly occasion that might include friendly conversations, exploring a new hobby or just enjoy a sausage sizzle and a chance to connect - there's something for everyone.
On Tuesday August 6 we will be hosting a networking event, and on Sunday 27 October, we're looking at a team-oriented gathering. Don't worry if you miss one - you can always catch us at the next meet and greet!
We welcome diversity and are excited to host events that include children and young people, as well as people with all sorts of skills and backgrounds and celebrate the Tamworth region as one that is a welcoming and inclusive community for all who choose to live and work in our beautiful region.
This event isn’t just for people living in Tamworth either - we’d love for you to join us from Attunga, Somerton, Barraba, Manilla, Kootingal, Nundle and beyond!
