The Tamworth Aquatic, Education and Health Centre of Excellence has secured $9M in funding from the Australian Government.
The funding, under the Australian Government’s Growing Regions Program, was announced on 14 January.
In August last year, Councillors approved a funding strategy for the facility budgeted to cost $45 million. It included a $15 million grant through the NSW Government’s Centre of Excellence Fund and Council making a co-contribution.
Construction on the Jack Smythe Drive site is planned to start before the end of this year.
