Sprayed bitumen sealing - South and East Tamworth
Sprayed bitumen sealing of sections of roads in South Tamworth and East Tamworth is underway this week.
In order for the sealing to most effective, residents of the streets earmarked for sealing are asked to park their vehicles off the street or ensure any parked car is able to be moved at short notice on request from workers on site to allow the work to be completed.
Work started this morning in Elm and Garden streets. Residents of Bell Street (between Goonoo Goonoo Road and Churchill Street), Erwin Street (between Wilburtree Street and Campbell Street) and Cobley Avenue (between Baird Crescent and Goonoo Goonoo Road) will see work there this afternoon or tomorrow.
Sections of three streets in East Tamworth will also have sprayed bitumen sealing carried out this week. They are:
- Rawson Avenue – between Fitzroy and Roderick streets,
- Arunta Place, and
- Yarral Avenue – between Fitzroy and White streets.
Contractors engaged by Council will be sealing several streets each day this week between 7am and 5pm. The exact timing of works for each street is not known.
Residents and businesses are advised that immediate access may be restricted while bitumen spraying is in progress. Residents who expect they will need to access their property while the works are in progress are asked to talk to workers on site.
Council apologises for any inconvenience while these necessary works are completed.
