Volunteering Opportunity Details

The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) funded by the Department of Home Affairs, is available to eligible migrants and refugees wanting to learn pre-vocational English language and settlement skills. The AMEP Volunteer Tutor Program, TAFE NSW, is a subprogram of the AMEP.

Could you spare one hour a week to help a new migrant or refugee practice their English?

You can meet your student face-to-face in a public space, online, or a combination of both. As a volunteer tutor, you will have access to training and resources to use with your students.

Volunteering with the AMEP at TAFE NSW will provide you with an opportunity to:

Meet new people and understand a range of cultures.
Help new arrivals settle into their new life in Australia.
Develop new skills or enhance existing knowledge and expertise.
