MyTRC Volunteer Connect offers a range of internal and external volunteer opportunities throughout the region. If the opportunity is a Council lead initiative, volunteers are encouraged to register their details through our TRC Volunteer Portal.

All external volunteer opportunities will be directed to their organisation/service.

The TRC Volunteer Portal is a safe, online space created and supported by Rosterfy to help support volunteering opportunities within our region. Volunteers can register their interest, create a profile, access online modules, policy documents, our volunteer handbook, see real time rostering and connect with new volunteering opportunities.

Rosterfy is a workforce management platform that streamlines the process of recruiting, scheduling, training, and engaging volunteers and staff for events. All volunteer data is stored in Australia and is ISO 27001 certified.

This depends on what time you have available and what you’d like to do. We will try to be as flexible as possible. Any roles that require a more specific time commitment will clearly state this in the role description.

For all internal Council volunteering roles, we will invite you to meet with us, or have a chat over the phone after you have created your Rosterfy profile.

Depending on the volunteering opportunity, we ask you to supply this information on your application form.

Many roles just require your time, energy and enthusiasm!

Volunteer role descriptions will list any additional skills or experience you may need for example, having a background in health, education, marketing and communication, office administration, business, project management or related disciplines.

Given the nature of our organisation, some volunteers will need to complete a volunteer Working with Children check.

Volunteers receive an induction (specific to their volunteering space) and will be given all the training and support necessary to feel confident in the role.

Staff members are on hand to provide ongoing help and support.

Here are the steps to becoming a volunteer:

Online

1. Hit the 'Apply Now' button on your volunteering opportunity.
2. Create a profile using Rosterfy.
3. Our Volunteer Services Officer will contact you to discuss your experience, opportunities and anything else you would like to know about volunteering.
4. When approved, complete the assigned online modules.
5. When all modules and information has been collected, a manager from your volunteering service will contact you to advise of available shifts/times.
6. Before the start of your first shift, you will be given a full site induction and given any relevant information to your volunteering role.
7. After 3 months, our Volunteer Services Officer will organise a catch-up to find out more about your volunteering experience.

In person

1. Complete the paper form and return to your local Council office.
2. Our Volunteer Services Officer will contact you to discuss your experience, opportunities and anything else you would like to know about volunteering.
3. When approved, our Volunteer Services Officer will create a Rosterfy account with your permission and advise of a date to go complete the Corporate Induction Module.
4. When all modules and information has been collected, a manager from your volunteering service will contact you to advise of available shifts/times.
5. Before the start of your first shift, you will be given a full site induction and given any relevant information to your volunteering role.
6. After 3 months, our Volunteer Services Officer will organise a catch-up to find out more about your volunteering experience.
