Fun for all at Imaginate Kids Festival
Performers and children’s entertainers from across the state are polishing up their acts for Tamworth’s inaugural Imaginate Kids Festival. The fun-filled event will be held on day three of the Tamworth Barbeque Festival on September 29, 2024.
Featuring acts and characters like Amelie Ecology, Larrikin Puppets, Jurassic Jack, Hunter Heroes, Delorean Time Machine, Lightning McQueen and Chewbacca, Imaginate has something for everyone.
Local grassroots charity RiseUp Tamworth Inc has a vision to establish a long-term sustainable kids festival that supports and reflects the local community, is family friendly and promotes a culturally diverse and inclusive festival experience.
President Tim Simpson says RiseUp aims to inspire the imagination and support the mental wellbeing of regional children, creating a sense of pride in the region.
“Imaginate Kids Festival has been many years in the making. Our primary aim of Imaginate is to be able to take away the everyday worries of regional children, allowing them to use their imagination and to become actively involved with activities and shows on the day.
“We plan to put proceeds from Imaginate back into our community, assisting with kids’ mental health services, and assisting us with presenting our flagship Christmas event, Carols in the Park, where all proceeds are delivered to Ronald McDonald House.
“We are passionate about helping our community, and those that are most vulnerable within it,” Tim said.
Tamworth Regional Council is excited to facilitate the flagship kids’ event during its Tamworth Barbeque Festival, being held on September 27-29 at Riverside Sporting Fields.
Events Officer Natasha Little says the Tamworth BBQ Festival is for the whole family.
“We have a slow barbeque competition with over $19,000 in prizes and trophies, two stages of live music across the weekend and 45 traders selling everything from leather goods, jerky, brisket, ribs and sweet food.
“The Imaginate Kids Festival has many elements like amusements, superheroes, and dinosaurs,” Natasha said.
Tickets to Imaginate are free to all children under 15 with a paying adult ticket. Adult Sunday tickets are available online for $15.
